Choose a launch monitor around the space you have

Check tracking layout, software compatibility and measured data before adding a launch monitor to a home net.

Before comparing data screens, check where the launch monitor has to sit and how much ball flight it needs. A monitor that cannot operate within your available depth is the wrong starting point, regardless of its feature list.

Read the layout, not just the technology label

Radar, camera and combined systems can have different placement requirements. Use the instructions for the exact model and mode you intend to use. Do not assume that two devices with similar technology need the same room.

For example, Rapsodo's MLM2PRO product FAQ describes a position 6.5–8.5 ft behind the ball and 8 ft from ball to net indoors. Those are separate stretches of space; screen movement and the rest of the installation still need checking. The figures do not establish a safe ceiling height for your swing.

Ask what each number means

Keep the answers with the model name and software version where relevant. A basic data session into a net and a projected simulator round are different purchases.

Start with the practice job

If you only want a place to hit balls, you may not need a monitor immediately. If you want simulated courses, budget for the compatible software and display as well as the sensor. We do not list live subscription prices; check the manufacturer's current terms before ordering.

Use the sim room planner for the recorded dimensions, then work through the room planning guide. Unknown requirements remain unresolved checks, not automatic passes.
